One of the best things about my job is it’s randomness. I love not knowing what the next email, hour or phonecall may bring.
And doing a Bra Making course at The Textile Space in Charlton is just one of the little perks (no pun intended) that my diary has had in store of late.
Opened last year by textile artist Deborah Harwood and dressmaker Claire Tyler the 18th century barn has been transformed and now buzzes with the hum of sewing machines and an air of creativity.
Above is the rather fancy bra made by Millie, a regular student, and to the right is my more humble creation. But I hope you agree the spotty sheer fabric helps to make it a little bit naughty but nice.
The whole process was great fun, from mastering the M&S stitch to the cheeky show and tell at the end.
